VEL Driving School – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between VEL Driving School (“the Instructor/School”) and the Pupil (“the Student”). By booking lessons, you agree to these terms.

1. Lesson Bookings

• Lessons must be booked directly with VEL Driving School by Phone, Text, WhatsApp or Email.
  
  

• Bookings are subject to instructor availability.
  
  

• Lessons start and finish at the agreed location. Any change must be confirmed in advance.

2. Payments

• Lessons must be paid in advance or at the start/end of the lesson.
  
  

• Block bookings must be paid in full upfront.
  
  

• Prices are subject to change, but pre-paid lessons will be honoured at the agreed rate.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
  
  

• Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
  
  

• If the Instructor cancels a lesson, it will be rescheduled at no cost to the Student.

4. Refunds

• Block bookings are non-refundable once lessons have commenced.
  
  

• Any refund (if granted at the Instructor’s discretion) will be calculated based on lessons taken at the standard hourly rate, not the discounted block rate.

5. Use of Vehicle for Driving Test

• Use of the Instructor’s car for the driving test is at the Instructor’s discretion.
  
  

• The Student must be considered “test ready” by the Instructor to use the car.
  
  

• Test day fees (including a pre-test lesson and car hire) will be agreed in advance.

6. Responsibilities of the Student

• The Student must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence.
  
  

• The Student must inform the Instructor of any medical condition or medication that may affect driving.
  
  

• The Student must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The Instructor reserves the right to terminate any lesson if they suspect this, with the lesson still chargeable.

7. Responsibilities of the Instructor

• To provide a fully insured, roadworthy vehicle.
  
  

• To provide professional instruction in line with DVSA standards.
  
  

• To maintain confidentiality of student information.

8. Liability

• The Instructor is not liable for any failure of the Student to reach the required standard for the driving test.
  
  

• The Instructor is not liable for any costs arising from test cancellations made by the DVSA.
  
  

• The Student is responsible for any fines, penalties, or damages caused by failing to follow the Instructor’s directions during lessons.

9. Conduct

• The Instructor reserves the right to terminate lessons if the Student behaves inappropriately, poses a risk to safety, or fails to comply with instructions.

10. Changes to Terms

• VEL Driving School reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Students will be informed of significant changes.
